Figure 03 vs 1X NEO: The Short Answer

Choose 1X NEO only if you accept the risks of a home-robot pre-order and are comfortable with remote assistance. Figure 03 is designed for home and commercial use, but it is not a consumer buying option: Figure has no public price, household order program or consumer support terms.

That does not make NEO the more capable robot in every setting. It makes NEO the only robot in this exact matchup currently presented as a product a household can reserve. Figure 03 has the stronger industrial deployment path; NEO has the clearer home proposition.

Official specifications and commercial status checked July 16, 2026. Vendor terms such as payload, carry capacity, runtime and speed are not directly comparable because the test conditions differ.

Availability and Price

Figure 03

Figure has not published a list price or public order page for Figure 03. Its production program covers housework research, commercial development and deployments outside Figure's headquarters. The robot is designed for home and commercial use, but there is still no public household order channel or consumer service package to evaluate.

1X NEO

The official NEO order page lists $20,000 ownership or $499 per month with a refundable $200 deposit for US customers. 1X opened its Hayward factory in April 2026 and says customer shipments are planned before year-end. The correct label today is pre-order—not shipping consumer product.

Home Design and Physical Risk

NEO is explicitly designed around home interaction: 1X describes a soft, tendon-driven body, a 30 kg weight and household-oriented movement. Figure says Figure 03 uses soft textiles and protective foam and was designed for home use as well as commercial work. Neither vendor description replaces a task-specific safety assessment or evidence from ordinary operation around children, pets, stairs and clutter.

The official Figure 03 product page now lists height, weight, payload, runtime and speed. Those figures are included in the table above; price and consumer support terms remain unpublished.

Autonomy, Teleoperation and Privacy

Figure's Helix system has been shown performing enterprise workflows, including a Figure 03 parts-sequencing demonstration at BMW. Figure called it a demonstration, not a fleet-scale production result. The result shows relevant capability but does not establish unsupervised home performance.

1X openly describes Expert Mode, in which human experts can assist NEO remotely. Its NEO product page describes people blurring, no-go zones and owner controls. Those are useful safeguards, but remote access remains a material buying question: customers should know when it activates, what an operator can see or control, how sessions are logged and how often ordinary tasks require help.

There is no honest universal autonomy winner without comparable data on task completion, intervention frequency, failures and the test environment. Figure has stronger industrial evidence; NEO has a more explicit home workflow and assistance model.

Final Verdict

NEO wins the home-buying comparison by default because it is the only home-first product with public reservation terms. That is a narrow verdict, not proof that it has better general autonomy, hardware or reliability. The absence of delivered-customer evidence keeps it in the high-risk early-adopter category.

Figure 03 has stronger industrial deployment evidence, but it is not a current home purchase.

Frequently asked questions

Is Figure 03 better than 1X NEO for the home?
Not as a current purchase. Figure 03 is designed for home and commercial use and has stronger industrial deployment evidence, but Figure has no consumer order program, list price or support terms. NEO is purpose-built for homes and accepts US pre-orders, although customer delivery and ordinary household autonomy have not yet been established.
How much do Figure 03 and 1X NEO cost?
Figure has not published a Figure 03 list price. 1X lists NEO at $20,000 or $499 per month, with a refundable $200 deposit. That is a pre-order term, not proof that a finished robot has been delivered and supported in customer homes.
Can you buy Figure 03 or 1X NEO now?
You cannot place a public Figure 03 order. 1X accepts NEO pre-orders in the United States and says customer shipments are planned before the end of 2026. Until delivery occurs, NEO should be treated as a pre-order rather than an available retail product.
Does 1X NEO use human remote operators?
Yes. 1X describes an Expert Mode in which remote human experts can assist NEO. The company also describes owner approval, people blurring and no-go zones. Buyers should still review what operators can see or control, how access is logged and how much assistance normal tasks require.
Which robot has better autonomy, Figure 03 or 1X NEO?
There is not enough comparable public operating data for a defensible universal winner. Figure has demonstrated Helix on industrial workflows and is also developing housework capabilities. 1X targets household tasks with autonomy plus remote assistance. Compare task success, interventions and deployment evidence for the intended use rather than vendor demo breadth.
